A new 3D-printed microneedle system has been designed by researchers at the University of Victoria and the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation. It combines remote health monitoring and drug delivery, and uses painless, minimally invasive tiny microneedles to measure key health indicators like pH, glucose, and lactate levels. It also features a remotely-triggered mechanism for on-demand drug administration, all controlled via a smartphone app.
