Tons of countries that aren't Europe and US are rapidly leaving traditional brands behind because Chinese brands are making better cars at actually reasonable prices (compared to completely crazy prices on traditional brands).
Traditional brands will hurt everywhere if they don't up their game (as in lowering prices and improving their buggy software). They might hold off in their mother lands due to tariffs, but that won't hold long enough, and Chinese brands will manage to bring their cars using loopholes (such as building the cars in neighboring countries such as Mexico for US or Hungary/Turkey in Europe, or importing cars through the UK to avoid part of the tariffs), or even building them in Europe (BYD and SAIC are already planning to build cars in Spain and other "not so cheap" countries).
Traditional brands are shooting themselves in the foot, and as time passes they'll run out of toes to be able to catch up.
The BYD Seal impressed the American EV enthusiast with its high-quality interior, which can supposedly compete with the luxury that is offered by the Model S and not the similarly priced Tesla Model 3.
