50Gb is a completely ridiculous figure in 2024. Suitable only for some short emergency tasks, but not for normal work or entertainment on the Internet in nature. In fact, this is an "emergency" tariff, completely meaningless for someone who needs normal access to the network, like via cable.

Unlim costs 3 times more (I didn't read all the hidden restrictions, but they're probably there too) - $150, and there's also an additional fee. And the speed will naturally greatly depend on weather conditions and network congestion - the more mobile consumers, the lower the speed.

By the way, in most authoritarian and especially totalitarian countries (where this makes the most sense as an opportunity to access the network independently of the authorities), the purchase and use of such equipment without the permission of slave owners is a crime and is punishable.

Sure, the speeds they promise look good but the thing doesn't even have a battery of its own! Why did they even bother releasing this.

SpaceX has launched the standalone Starlink Mini kit for everyone to buy in the US, while it was initially only available as an add-on to an existing service.
