"Comparing the Ryzen 7 9700X to Intel's mid-range offering that is in the same price bracket, namely the Intel Core i7-14700K, the Zen 5 CPU is clearly faster in single-threaded but lags behind in the multi-threaded department by a delta of 15%. So, even with a healthy IPC increase, the Ryzen 7 9700X could have a tough time against its Intel rival in the multi-core workloads."

Show us the performance per W and Intel's option is scary inefficient.

PS: also... something something V3.

Rumored to cost similar to the Ryzen 7 7700X, the 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X based on the Zen 5 architecture has appeared on Geekbench and the results are impressive, at least when it comes to the single-core performance. According to the leaked benchmark results, the Ryzen 7 9700X enjoys a double-digit single-threaded and a moderate multi-threaded gain over its predecessor.
