I'm not a fan of Google, but this obsession with stupid synthetic benchmarks is ridiculous. Who cars if the SD 8 Gen 3 is faster, it also runs stupidly hot and throttles very badly, its real world performance is greatly hampered by its poor design pushing clocks stupidly high for the sole purpose of not losing to Apple so badly, not because it's needed. Pixel 9 will be plenty fast enough.

We seem to be fixated on numbers, but ultimately, it should be about function.

What does it let you do that you could not do before?

In an AI world, AnTuTu becomes superfluous. I bet the G4 is all about AI and enabling local LLM/generative AI models.

Google has a good track record of not being able to keep its unreleased phones secret for long. The Pixel 9 series isn't an exception in this regard. Previously, we had detailed images of the upcoming phones, and now, the Tensor G4 benchmark results are out. As per the benchmarks, the new SoC won't offer a big performance jump from its predecessor.
