Even in a stifled state, it will still be 2 times faster than the poor mobile 4070.

Well, this is just a "game" line. And the sufferer above just wrote that he doesn't need games. The question is - why does he need a 2.3 kg laptop running at half power from USB-C, instead of the LG Gram 17, which at least, if necessary, can be connected to the eGPU 4090 at home? But for some reason this stupid Lenovo product cannot be connected to an eGPU, despite the fact that it cannot produce 60fps even at 2.5k in modern games. Then why is it made and for whom, who is the target audience?

It's stupid to take this crap on the road. With USB-C power, the performance will be 2-2.5 times worse. What's the point of paying for a 4070 and an i9 and then never using them to their full potential? And what's the point of buying a laptop with a 1kg power supply and without TB4 ports?

For your purposes, the LG Gram 17 2024 is much better suited with a whole 1" more visual space for business. You just need to find it in a configuration with 32GB of RAM and it's possible. It's almost 1 kg lighter. And it has 2 TB4 ports. So at home you can easily connect an external desktop 4090 to it, which is 2.2(!) times faster than the mobile 4070, if you suddenly want to play or get powerful computing with an eGPU.

This Lenovo model is the most idiotic they have ever made. And the lowest quality with completely mediocre screen contrast. Waste of money.

100W from common USB PD charger is not enough to power the GPU+CPU alone for full performance, not counting other components.

4090 e-GPU would be choked to death by the PCIE 3.0x4 tunneling provided by TB4. And an LG Gram 17 + 4090 Egpu is not cheap and doess not guarrantee to perform well if at all.

If you don't need a gaming laptop, don't get a gaming laptop. Just buy something else. But please use some logical thinking next time you leave a comment.

Personally, I think the laptop could use a better screen... and better naming scheme. It's clearly more of a Legion slim 7 gen 8 follow up rather than a follow up of the Legion 7 gen 7.

Typo? Because...

4090 desktop is already almost 2.2x the speed of 4070 desktop.

This is some kind of shame from Lenovo - a laptop weighing 2.3 kg with a power supply of almost 1 kg!!!
And at the same time it is also noisy.

And the most shameful thing is that it does not have RJ45!!! Minimum ping on a wi-fi connection and stable speed are physically impossible!

Lenovo - why this idiotic 3.2K screen that is not compatible at the pixel level with either 4K video or FHD video? What is the point of this perversion with screen resolution? And at the same time a shameful contrast!

Have your developers become completely stupid and don't understand what people need? People need perfectly sharp fonts (maximum ppi, which only 4k+ screens produce) in normal use and full, at the pixel level, compatibility (perfect clarity) with the fhd mode in games, where you can squeeze the maximum fps out of the obviously weak dgpu, which is again provided but only 4k panels.

It feels like Lenovo's developers and marketers have finally gotten stoned or are using some kind of hallucinogenic mushrooms...
