In der Tat: 1964 waren 8 KB viel RAM. Mein erster Computer gekauft 1983, produziert ab 1980 hatte 5926 Bytes RAM, also weniger.

IBMs System/360 war seinerzeit eine riskante Entscheidung. Eine Fünf-Milliarden-Dollar-Wette sollte alles umkrempeln, hätte IBM aber auch in den Ruin treiben können. Manche Firma kaufte nur dank dieses Systems erstmals einen Computer in den 1960er-Jahren.
