Except for some specific cases of urgent need, this will never be necessary for ordinary people and, of course, this violates privacy and security a priori.

I don't see any particular need for this, except for work in VR, where it is really desperately needed

But on laptops, other than demonstrating to the client in some cases sitting on the other side, although even this is quite difficult to imagine as being effective, there is no point in doing it.

Manufacturers are morons doing all sorts of crap, while they can't even make a high-quality classic keyboard and a normal screen, with normal set of ports and power jack. Let's start with this - 4k IPS@120Hz 16:10 1500+ in EVERY laptop. Without exception. So that EVERYONE has 250ppi+. This is REAL progress for humanity, not this marginal bullshit. As well as the rapid transition to 8k monitors, especially 27-32".

It's a cool product. Not super practical, but cool.

Should not be 16:9. Products presenting as futuristic or modern should feature an according aspect ratio.

Whats the point? Isn't that even more distracting than seeing reflections on the screen? So now ontop of having to take windows into consideration when finding a place to settle down you need to worry about what is behind it.

Weird stuff but ok. Making sure that everyone around can see what's on your screen, seems very "useful" for public places.

Lenovo has now offered a first look at the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop, one of the most unusual devices to bear the ThinkBook badge. While only a 'proof of concept' at this stage, Lenovo provided some hands-on time with the device at its MWC 2024 event in Barcelona.
