Aufgrund von Inkonsistenzen im Release-Zyklus von Ubuntu 24.04 und Plasma 6 muss Kubuntu 24.04 LTS mit KDE Plasma 5 statt mit dem neuen Plasma 6-Desktop veröffentlicht werden. Die Umstellung auf Plasma 6 wird für das Ubuntu-Flavour Kubuntu erst mit der Version 24.10 im Oktober 2024 erfolgen.
