You have valid points there overall but as with everything in life there are limitations; just as you can't walk in sugar factory and buy a chocolate you can't get to Intel and ask them to sell you an AMD product.Quote from: Neenyah on January 10, 2024, 14:10:55Quote from: davidm on January 10, 2024, 13:47:00Looks like Lenovo continues to second-class AMD for thinkpads. I'd like to get an 8040 X1. The other brands are starting to look more interesting.X1 and P1 are being fully designed and developed together with Intel so it's a bit difficult to see an AMD inside due to the obvious reasons. T14s is pretty close to X1 but cheaper and it has an excellent AMD options just fine.
But no 2-in-one option aside from the L.
The relationship doesn't matter to me, as a consumer. I'm not an industry observer writing a column (which is the weird position a lot of commenters seem to have gone to, like a duck discussing confit). I'm going to focus on the product I want to buy, not the insider shenanigans (unless they're illegal, in which case the should be front and centre).
