That's precisely what I do not like. Consumers deserve something better than old cookies wrapped in a brand-new, more-shiny-than-ever box.

Quotea quick look at video media show's rehashed formula plots

Oh, yes, movies and TV shows suck even harder than games do. There are so many of them, and they all tend to be very similar to each other. Special agents in particular are used as protagonists so often that it's no longer funny. It's simply an insult to consumers.

Gosh that is about the size of it right?

Actually if we think back to even the 1980's we've (IE: CONSUMERS) have not really added much if anything NEW uses/applications for our computing devices.

Sure, we exchange messages with friends and relatives, do some banking, shopping, consume some media (audio and video) and play some games with them.

As mentioned, the games generally have similar plots as they always have and most (if not all) the 'upgraded aspects' is in the visuals. Granted some titles have much more depth, play time and a few have better replay ability.

While they surely 'boot up' and switch applications much faster than decades ago what we are doing with them have not really changed other than what it looks like while we are using it.

The gaming industry is not alone here, a quick look at video media show's rehashed formula plots that seem to be AI generated.

Despite finer-looking graphics, games released in 2023 aren't in any meaningful way better than what we played 20 years ago. Shoot random people, steal cars, blow things up - is Grand Theft Auto VI really going to be breaking any new ground in terms of gameplay?
