Cannot get it to connect to external monitor. Major shortcoming.

Not bad. Only thing I'd say absolutely needs fixing is the thermals. Otherwise a SD over MT would have been preferable but for the designed tasks of this device MT will do fine.

With the RT2, Oukitel serves an interesting niche in the tablet segment, namely the outdoor sector. The casing is very robust and waterproof, and the battery runtimes are very good. Moreover, the tablet from Oukitel is attractively priced for a rugged tablet.
