Sony makes good attempts but their horrible customer service reputation simply can't be overcome despite their laudable efforts.

Zoom lens is worthless to me but give me a larger sensor and then we're talking.

More than happy to have the telephoto to also get upgraded to a bigger sensor. The shift to small sensor on the 1 IV in exchange for longer zoom range isn't making the photos nicer. I only hope for bigger sensor telephoto to compensate for the amount of light able to pass on such a long lens. Maybe use the sensor on the 1 IV main for both telephoto and ultrawide since it's been optimised for 2 generations now. Though I'd rather see 2 optical telephoto rather than a variable telephoto since I think the variable lens is making it more softer than it should. Otherwise, I'm not expecting much changes to the 1 VI either.

Reportedly, Sony is aiming to launch its next Xperia 1 flagship in under six months' time. Based on new rumours, the Sony Xperia 1 VI will line with up during MWC 2024 with improved telephoto optics.
