20A was never meant to be an IFS (external) node so this rumor and the source are suspect. 20A is more of a half-stepping designed specifically for CPU's and not the entire SoC. If anyone believes this, I have a nice bridge for sale as well.
Ouch, that's a huge slap in the face for Gelsinger. They've been hyping 20A for a log time. Still we need more competition for TSMC especially and I hope they can actually deliver excellent nodes in the next few years.
Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Qualcomm has stopped developing test chips on Intel's 20A node. It will instead look at TSMC's N3E and Samsung Foundry's 3GAP nodes for future products.
