3840x2160x30x144(444 mode) = 35831808000 bps, 36Gbps clean data without service overhead. Taking into account the service overhead with 16/18 bit encoding, we get 40310784000 bps.
Thus, even with lossy DSC compression, this guarantees an almost perfect signal quality even on HDMI 2.1 transmitters cut from 48 to 40 Gbps.

After all, manufacturers cynically declare support for 8k@60fps at 444, despite the fact that even full HDMI 2.1 with 48Gbps is not 100% enough even in 24bit, and is possible only with monstrous lossy DSC compression.

So for TV, supporting 4k@144 is basically a foolish waste of crowd time playing around in lossy DSC mode, no problem at all.

But for people working with precise graphics - impudent and deceitful statements of manufacturers about 8k@60fps 444 support are a problem. But I don't care about the gamers, nobody cares about their problems.

DP is a computer standard for monitors and is not interchangeable with HDMI. The maximum cable length for DP is 1.8m, for HDMI it is 10m.

All this scam with ports is rather tired. It's high time to switch to PC and consumer devices to an optical link - where one cable will be everything at once with a bandwidth from 500Gbps-1Tbps. In this case, power can be supplied as usual through copper conductors.

With an optical link, people will get a completely different level of comfort in games and work - it will be possible to take the system unit to the back room or another non-residential room and sit in complete silence even with 100% load on the processor and video card. At the same time, on the table there will be only a hub connected via optics with the peripheral ports needed by the person at hand.

An optical cable will easily allow you to transfer data at a huge speed over a distance of 50-100m (like Ethernet has been familiar to everyone for a long time), which will immediately solve all problems both at home and at work.

Me be like: Ok, finally 144 Hz native panel on S95C..but Samdung reduced the bandwidth from 48 Gbps to 40 Gbps..bruh. LG, cume on, now u make 144 Hz panel and u win in this regard. We people PC gamers demand our 144Hz4K4:4:4chroma, not 120Hz4K4:4:4chroma.

Cume on, we are PC gamers after all and want the most possible out of HDMI 2.1a.
If u, SAMSUNG, don't like HDMI because of license fees, that's understandable, but the please add DisplayPort 2.0. Thanks and nice QD-OLED tech, superior to W-OLED indeed (more efficient, brighter colors, closer to Rec.2020 color space,..)

Nothing surprises me about this company. Just lloed what happened with last year's model and false claims leading to a fw update to roll back advertised feature. They are called Scamsung for good reason
