Dell doesn't seem to equip latitudes with 500 nits screen (at least in the UK). Screen choices are 250 or 300 which is below the average for the premium price.

Odd CPU choice for this laptop.  I would have used the Intel i7 1365U CPU.  Also, I wouldn't compare it to the HP Pro Book.  That compares to the Dell Latitude 5000s series laptops.  This is closer to the HP EliteBook laptops. 

Why oh Why oh Why did they fit such a small 2230 SSD in a 14" laptop?
Upgrading is super expensive and impossible beyond 2TB.
Even the smaller Dell 7340 has the full 2280....this makes no sense from Dell. What a pity (and a lost sale).

Dell's service manual for this laptop specifies that it comes with a 2230 (short) SSD. From your photograph of the insides of this laptop, it appears there's no room for a 2280 SSD. Is that correct? Thank you.

All - the SSD is a 2230, not 2242 (it says so in the Dell docs, but searching for the Samsung MZ-9L4512A shown in the picture confirms the shorter format). You can find these laptops on Dell outlet with a 3-year warranty, buy the low-end SSD offerings and swap for the Micron MTFDKBK2T0QFM, one of the few single-sided 2TB PCIE 4 options out there I could dig up.

$1,900 seems like a joke to me for an intel 13 gen with an intel Xe iGPU that is not capable of rendering 3D or playing AAA games.
16GB of RAM for $1900 minimum should have put 32GB
Storage 500MB for $1900 minimum should have put 1GB
They are going crazy normal for people to opt for AMD because this price is impossible to assume with these characteristics

A portable system unit would be nice, with 32GB of a well-optimized LPDDR5 5200.

Where the authors of NB get such wild prices, I don't know, but this line usually starts at $1000 in the minimum config and I doubt that in retail, someone from buyers will agree to pay 1900 for this in 2023. For 1900 I want to see 64GB / 4TB SSD, out of the box, with a 3 year warranty. Otherwise, there is simply nothing to pay for. Wishing on a small 14 "screen DCI-P3 100%, etc., in general, is pointless - it is impossible to work on it a priori, especially with a keyboard without a numpad. Cleanly surf on the road and quickly connect it to a large monitor and a normal keyboard with a mouse...
