Cloud is just a fancy way to say 'someone else's computer'.
Even on vacations, I never took more than a few gigs worth of photos and videos with my phone. All you weirdos who 'shoot RAW' or 4K videos of yourself walking on the streets while holding a selfie stick... bring a long a dedicated camera or a GoPro instead. Stop abusing your phone.
Take highest quality video and pics and I run about 25-40% usage on average with 128G Pixel 7 Pro. All photos/videos are immediately uploaded to cloud, local storage cleared. 128G is perfect for me moving forward.
I'm hitting limit with 256GB 1 year later and I shoot low res stills and almost no 8K. Half memory is music, another are 1y of photos. I can imagine that with hi res and 8K I would need at least 512GB or more. A lot depends on usage, but for those using raws and not cleaning offline files, 128GB is a big no.
A Redditor has provided a first look at the Pixel 8 Pro, Google's next premier smartphone. It seems that Google is preparing to offer up another flagship that starts with 128 GB of storage though, which will also likely apply to the Pixel 8.
