They're not coming this year. And even when they do, they'll be in extremely overpriced, limited supply/availability in select markets/regions like 1-2 notebook designs only.

There isn't any real incentive for AMD to compete in U-series market as their higher TDP HS chips are as efficient as intel's U/P-series. Not to mention lower margins on these chips for AMD as well.

Your best bet is probably just getting a 7940hs laptop (flow x13 - available in uk/eu now) and then lowering the TDP to 15w.

AMD have repeatedly said several times already that they're prioritizing wafer silicon supply/production to servers and consoles. They do not care about consumer dGPU's or laptop's -- it's just a niche side business for them.

Intel's Meteor Lake will have superior iGPU to Phoenix's RDNA3 and be available in laptops by the end of this year. So maybe best to wait for that.

It's time to move on.

Because laptops, especially thin and light ones, are used for many things where Intel is actually ahead and not only gaming?
