Lease pass through on Kona EV works for full $7500 discount regardless of income! Better range AND lower cost with option to buy lease out early if you want to "buy" or walk away after 2-3 years and see what's available then (likely taking another rebate!). Basically dumb not to do the lease deal regardless.
VW is not the cheapest. Bolt EUV is. The bottom of the line id.4 is not great, lacks range. Better to buy a buying of the line model Y. You get a lot more for your $.
The Chevy Bolt EUV is $10k cheaper than the ID.4, just as zippy and fun to drive, with plenty if tech, luxury, and passengers/cargo space.
Personally, I don't like the ID.4's dash controls and the tiny weird "odometer" display. The Bolt has "normal" buttons that you can toggle without taking your eyes off the road.
The Volkswagen ID.4 is now the cheapest electric SUVs one can get in the US as it became the first EV from a foreign automaker to qualify for the government's full US$7,500 tax credit. With it, the ID.4 Standard crossover model price goes just above US$30,000.
