Good job on cooling, performance and battery size. But.. FHD, 120Hz screen, RGB... They added all these meaningless for portable console options to kill battery faster? Or by request from PR department? Is their firmware opensource like Steam Deck's or we'll be dropped when they decide to stop supporting it? Also no trackpads - they are actually needed to occasionally select something in RPGs. I welcome competition, but I like my Steam Deck more, how it's well thought through. I just hope Mk2 will have bigger 800p OLED display, RDNA3 and battery.
It seems that ASUS is preparing to release the ROG Ally, a Windows gaming handheld that should be a match for the likes of the GPD Win 4, ONEXPLAYER 2 and the Steam Deck, among others. The device will support ASUS's proprietary ROG XG Mobile eGPU solution and will feature a custom AMD APU with rumoured Zen 3 CPU cores and an RDNA 3-based iGPU.
