Imperceptible, impossible; not worth the cost, very much possible. But then projectors are rarely "worth the cost" since panels are so cheap now.
Yes their opinion may also be limited by source content and the old HDMI specs.

You would basically be buying this off a promotional video, plus some excited looking influencer reviews.
