Please don't call it a convertible in the title. A convertible laptop means the keyboard can be folded back to convert into a tablet. If the keyboard comes off, it is called a detachable laptop. Although I really want you to call this thing a tablet with a keyboard folio.

A proper laptop can be used on your lap. Whether the keyboard comes off or not, you need a proper hinge to hold the screen in place at any angle you want. Try using this thing or any Surface Pro on your lap. You'd develop all kinds of arm and back pains, if the device even sits on your lap with that back stand. It's infuriating these manufacturers are trying to confuse people into believe these are laptops rather than tablets, and then find out these things don't serve their laptop needs and have to send another piece of electronic waste to the landfill.

If you go for 4K resolution, you can't go beyond 60Hz. That is why Microsoft keeps the Surface Pro 8/9 screen at around QHD resolution as QHD can still support high refresh rate.

Finally, about time Dell bring their detachable screen tablet to the XPS lineup! As much as I love the Latitude 7320 Detachable, there's no getting away from the fact that it was made with SME customers and large corporations in mind, hence its astronomical price tag. That said, I would love to see the 5G version of this XPS tablet fairs up against the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 5G.

Honestly this is a 75% score at  best. So many compromises and the downclocking of the cpu is simply outrageous. Poor screen, poor number of ports, weak cpu, weaker gpu, stupid cpu decision for a fanless design. If it had come with a Rembrandt it might make some sense, but screen is a deal breaker.

There's a big disadvantage to the speaker placement if you are using it in tablet mode.

The speakers are located on the side near the bottom. If you detach the keyboard and hold the tablet on the sides, it covers/blocks the speakers and audio experience will suffer.

The XPS name is held to higher standards than your typical Inspiron or Vostro machine. The XPS 13 9315 2-in-1 mostly hits it out of the park even if it doesn't really offer all that much over the competing Surface Pro 8.
