Quote from: NikoB on October 13, 2022, 14:05:22As the HDMI consortium previously stated, the HDMI 2.1 nameplate doesn't really mean anything to the customer in terms of real progress from HDMI 2.0b - only the manufacturer's CLEAR indication that it's full HDMI 2.1 at 48Gbps (and ful set features of 2.1) tells buyers that real full 2.1 ports, not fake 2.1 ports with a lower bandwidth and only support for some (not even all) of the 2.1 protocol's features.Do these HDMI 2.1 ports not support 4k 120? As everyone was deceived first by Intel, and then by AMD with support for a full-fledged Display Port 2.0 - in reality, Zen4 does not have full support, but only support for 1/2 bandwidth (which is even much worse than the even older, but full-fledged HDMI 2.1 ). As a result, iron manufacturers will cheat consumers with fakes in all sold hardware instead of full-fledged HDMI 2.1 and DP2.0 ports (and it is extremely important for real support for 8k monitors, since HDMI 2.1 does not support 8k monitors and cannot physically).
All potential buyers need to know this.
