Just wanted to say that in the early 1900s I believe it was Ford had an electric truck but it took something like 48 car batteries on a pickup truck bed but they did have the first electric truck back then and it was even before the first gasoline combustion engine.

Motorola's automotive division had fully functioning electric cars built in the 1990s as a proof of concept. One of those - a battery-powered Corvette C4 - was recently found languishing in a garage near Motorola's former Illinois headquarters.
