Buidzoid tried to get near to my CB R20 score on identical hardware to mine and although his room temp was at least 10 degrees Celsius lower than mine (so he has a 10 degree head start in temps), giving it his best shot his score was lower than mine, but his 5950X CPU temp was OVER 100 DEGREES CELSIUS for a single benchmark run.
On the other hand, after mutliple runs back to back, my CB R20 result, using an off the shelf 360 rad AIO, on my 5950X is 12,078 and my max temp is 81.5 degrees Celsius (which would be 71.5 degrees Celsius if I were conducting my benchmark runs in Buildzoid's room - so that would be about a 30 degree Celsius delta).
After over three years the scrub conducting the 7950X test still hasn't learned jack about configuring 3rd/4th and now 5th Gen Ryzen.
It's not like someone hasn't created a guide on how to configure any 3rd/4th Gen Ryzen on any motherboard optimally in about five minutes flat (and that includes the BIOS).
Oh wait, that's right, I have.
There again I put in the eight months of work to find out how to do it.
Baseless FUD. The product would be an unmitigated disaster if it cannot be cooled with even an AIO. Only a naive fool would believe AMD would launch something like that. You will be seeing these chips air cooled in prebuilts like every other generation of chips before. AMD's OEM partners would not have it any other way and they know it.
Let me get this straight. The 7950x at 230w produces more heat than the 13900k at 270w. That's not how that works. There is a direct correlation between power consumption and heat, most 240mm aios are rated for between 240 and 350w, with 280s being in the 300-400 range and 360s going all the way up to 500w. If someone was getting 90c on a cpu with a max power draw of 230w using a 360mm aio then they did a s*** job mounting it.
Is it me or does tis article now show positive results for the potential of AMD's chips. Everyone here is like INTEL SHILL. It's literally the opposite to my eyes, lol. First off it's engineering sample. So it means nothing a this time. Launch could still run hot, but clearly there is already a fix. Which is what we have been doing on Gpus and Cpus for well over 5 years already. What is peoples malfunction. OH never mind why ask. We live in a clown shoe.
Everyone knows this is a bullshit article. I don't favor AMD over Intel. But there's no way in hell the 7000 desktop series will operate at 90°+ under normal circumstances. You can't really expect us to believe that, can you?
You know... Intel bribing people to fake benchmarks/sabotage to make the competition look bad is already a wildly known thing, intel likes to do. So why give a damn to post these 'rumors' you heard about intel being X degrees cooler and running Y percent faster? These are MOST probably the result of intel planting bullshit by bribing people (maybe they even bribed you?) Because looking at the scalability and efficiency of previous ryzen generations, there is absolutely NO way AMD could throw all that out of the window just because of a "new platform". By this point you are just kidding yourself. And btw: also looking at intels last few generations: i dont see them REALISTICALLY even pull EQUAL let alone overtake AMD for the next 5 to 10 years. The problem is more within companys policy within intel. They need WAY longer to fix that cheesy, illegal, cheating b.s. within to ever become relevant again.
This is absolutely meaningless. You can make intel 4004 to run significantly hotter compared to a modern CPU - just don't put any cooler on it. What coolers did you use? That's the most important thing to mention even if you use just box coolers (which probably aren't a thing anymore for both parties). Utter BS
