You have an inaccuracy in the article. This is not the only GTX card to support ray tracing. Nine GTX cards starting with the GTX 1060 through the Titan Xp have OFFICIAL support for ray tracing.

Engineering samples of Nvidia GeForce GTX 2080 are up for sale on eBay for US$360 each. The board looks like a prototype with identical hardware specs and reference design to the RTX 2080. Interestingly, the GPU also supports raytracing.
