Quote from: pR on July 05, 2022, 14:15:4795% of all the notebook reviews (I'm not talking about notebooks thar are build for gamers) are made from the perspective of the gamer, video/photo editor when in reality these heavy users are what... 5% of all the buyers? Also what I noticed is that most of the reviewers have no taste in design, the best design for them is how tech specs are written.
It's a device with quantifiable specs rather than a piece of art.
For design there are things that actually matter, like the how the airflow is maintained to keep things cool.
In case of a smartphone, most reviews are made with heavy focus on the camera.
Here in case of laptops, especially here on notebookcheck, they actually give an idea about almost everything.
Say, the quality of the screen, whether there is pwm flickering, the response times. Then the thermals and battery life on load.
If the RAM configuration provides the best performance. Or if the performance of the chip is throttled just to make the design look better by compromising the airflow.
All those things actually matter.
What reviewers do is compare something in the same price segment and then tell you if the product actually deserves that much.
I am not sure why you're dissatisfied in general. But for the layman who can't understand more than 'i7 is better than i5 which is better than i3' logic, these reviews help them avoid being cheated. Like someone being brainwashed into buying a kabylake based i7 (or maybe even 10th gen) on clearance sale by some salesperson making them believe that they got some great deal.
And yes, the laptop might indeed be a looker. Great aesthetics that would probably please you.
