Tbh apple has never been known for their quality cables either... Tho then again thunderbolt cables haven't been snake oiled by audio quest yet so who's to really say these are truly "expensive"

The real #1: Because it's Apple. This is the same company that sold a microfiber cleaning cloth for $20. They've always been known for being overpriced/expensive, and trying to make excuses for it is ridiculous. This may be a high-quality cable, but it's still overpriced.

Apple had tech enthusiasts turning their heads when it released the new Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable alongside the Mac Studio and Studio Display earlier this year. At a hard-to-swallow US$129 for the 1.8-meter version, and an even heftier US$159 for the as yet unavailable 3-meter version, let's take a look at why this cord carries such a steep price tag.
