Europe will be ready for the sub-nanometer processor era with a giant US$80 billion investment by Intel. New fabs in Germany are scheduled to become operational and churn out Angstrom era chips by 2027, while Intel plans a US$33 billion expansion of its Irish foundries for making more down-to-earth 7nm processors.
