idk how i feel about these pixel binned cameras i have yet to actually see anyone who's actually used these massive MP counts when taking photos, because they wud just be unsharable. Theres prob a reason why sony stopped bothering w/ these in their sensors after 48/56/64 and just started going back to 12/20 with larger sensors. Id rather have larger light buckets than these overkill MP counts.

Here's hoping this doesn't turn into another megapixel war like the one from the mid 2010s. If sony phones are anything to go by:

- Xperia Z (2013): 13MP
- Xperia Z1 up to Z3+ (~2014): 20.7MP
- Xperia Z5 (2015) up to Xperia XZ (2016): 23MP
- Xperia XZ1 (2017): 19MP
- Xperia 1 III and Xperia PRO I (2021): 12MP (main module)

I'm not big into high-megapixel sensors because they tend to introduce too much noise at native resolution or anything close to it when ambient light is less than perfect. Yes, I know about binning, but wouldn't bigger cells perform just as well if not better?

Not only does it have the highest resolution known to most CMOS-makers, it is also rated to be the smallest in its class thus far. It is also rated to debut quad phase detection and 16-cell binning for enhanced auto-focus (AF) and low-light performance.
