The Eagle processor is essentially doubling the number of qubits from last year's Hummingbird model that integrates 65 qubits. Featuring several layers of circuitry that improve the quantum coherence, the Eagle is now able to execute concurrent real-time classical compute workloads. IBM plans to release a 443-qubit model in 2022 and then break the 1000-qubit barrier by 2023.
