"Apparently, the upcoming 6th generation model will be the largest redesign in the iPad mini's history." It will actually be the first redesign, period. The design of the Mini has not changed at all since the first generation, aside from slight differences in thickness (due to change to laminated display).

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has revealed updates on Apple's plans regarding more new hardware. Apparently, the company will announce a next-generation iPad mini later this year and with a complete redesign compared to the current model. A larger iMac with an M1X or M2X SoC is in the works, also.
