No way in hell this can stand.
have they completely drop the ball.
a danish buyer going to Microsoft danish store Microsoft.dk right now and purchasing their flagship for touch interface Surface Studio 2, that here costs 5.200 USD for the base version.(31.999dkk)
he will not be able tp update to an OS that is intended to make touch interface more touch-optimized and where a PC like Surface Studio 2 is ideal.
You can not lay a turd like that on your own current productline and your own flagship atm.
as a shareholder in Microsoft. no way this can stand... INtel 7gen gonna be included.
we got 3 Books here in our household.
2 Porshe Book (i7 7gen 16GB ram and thunderbol3 and hello2.0 and all that yazz)( and 1 MS Book2 i7 8650 8gen)
Just check the TPM on the 2 Porsche Book.. they both got TMP2.0, so I would reckon most of fx MS Surface line with 7gen will also have TPM2.0, so that can not be the reason.
But can not think they will excluse their own current flagship Surface Studio 2, that has 7gen intel CPU. by making winsows11  8gen only.

welcome to leanest n meanest directx 13. dawning ms's long running project singularity. a fuchsia killer. one windows for pc, phone, tablets, server, xbox, mediacentre(again), possibly even for hololense as 12gb+ ram phones r getting common. singularity was Bill gate's project so i will not credit it to satya who ruined dos to powershell migration n let python crap get over. preached to embrace chrome religion. Windows mediaplayer obscurity, not putting windows CE on steroids when winpho was failing n many more.. its time to get rid of callcenter admin directors n #MakeMicrosoftGreatAgain

Windows not only will be more faster n power efficient. It can also run Android apps which is a big change similar to Apple Mac OS. This allow the PC or Mac to be more relevant too. Guess older hardwares will be phase out as they r not so power efficient n so on. Traditional PC software will find themselves to hv greater competition from a larger ecosystem. This ecosystem thrive because they don't charge a leg or arm for their apps too. ;D

The post is not fake but it's partially wrong. Unsupported processors (Intel 7th gen and below) will still be able to run W11 if they meet the minimum specifications, but won't be invited to upgrade or be able to install via Windows update and the PC health tool will flag them as unsupported. You will need to use the Windows media creation tool and you'll receive a warning saying an upgrade is not recommended with you processor, but it will still install, if the other requirements are met, including TPM 1.2.

This MS tool must be broken somehow.

Tested on a computer with way higher specs than announced minimum requirments, running a 8th gen Intel CPU.
According to this tool, this isn't enough to get a Windows 11 update.  :o

I stopped caring about Windows past 8.1.  Don't even have 10 installed on any of my desktops nor laptops.  I can/will always choose something like Deepin Linux to make the best use of modern OS/software coupled with older hardware.  Microsoft should b ashamed of themselves for being the cause of filling up landfills with obsolete yet very usable hardware.  It's stuff like Deepin that providence will use to "destroy" landfill filling up companies like MS.

That's just a "formal" list from Microsoft for OEMS. I'm pretty sure they are not retarded enough to drop a s*** ton of capable devices just because they are "old".

If they do, this will set a huge blow against Windows.

Windows 11 is here, and Microsoft has announced the AMD and Intel processors with which it is compatible. There are a few surprising omissions though, and ones that cut over a dozen Surface devices adrift on Windows 10.
