When will you publish the full review?

Thanks for the update! Could you please comment on the issues mentioned in that video when you are testing the new models? (No links allowed, but the title is "Watch This Before Buying the New 2021 Dell XPS 17 (Important!)" by Random Tech Videos on Youtube.

I guess one should then go for lower specs (e.g. 3050 instead of 3060)?

Yep, but you need a dGPU. Without dGPU, there is almost nothing to configure (I think only SSD and 512 GB at most and I guess Windows). But it might depend on the country you are in. Not all options are everywhere and in some countries, they don't have a configurator (although you might be able to custom order through a representative).

I struggle to believe that. I bought a 15" business laptop in 2006, a pretty loaded configuration, T7400 and it had only 2 GB of RAM. I think 4 was the maximum available at the time. It still came with 32-bit Windows XP (64-bit version had all sorts of trouble and was best avoided) and so you couldn't even use the full 4 GB IIRC. Of course, Vista came in 2007 with better 64-bit support. So, I struggle to believe you could buy an 11" toy with 16 GB of RAM that year. Were there even SO-DIMMs over 2 GB? I doubt you can fit four inside that thing which would imply 8 GB modules... I really can't believe that. Although I do know that DDR3 arrived in 2007 as well. But I don't think it changes anything.

Considering the throttling issues the 9510 was having last year it's going to be interesting to see side by side tests of the 2021 model. I'm very curious to see if Dell has made any strides with heat management as the thermal envelope for the new parts could be even more challenging.
