Sony are doing it all wrong!! they launch a product way to early with no stock to sell.
They price is super high and by the time it gets to market, the price is high and other makers already launch their next device.
Sony need to figure it out... it is a  great phone for 800 usd and 2 months ago.

The Sony brand tax is very real, it even trickles down to the crappy budget or midrange Xperia phones.

Evidently, Sony isn't going after sales volumes, just those few hardcore Sony fanboys buying them at launch is enough.

Most of the Sony Xperia phone users from 2014 (highest market share reached for Xperia phones)... have moved on to using other brands of phones, and they are not coming back.
Obviously their decline of popularity has slowed or stopped, the very expensive Xperia 1 III is the best selling in years, for whatever reason.

This company are a joke, even though I love their phones I will be avoiding this handset, it offers nothing more compared to what's already available on the market, it's way over priced, will be released months after the competitions offerings, Also the battery longevity leaks show at 120hz it's battery longevity is worse than what's available already !, If this had been released in January it might have sold well, everyone I know has also said they won't be purchasing this.

This is nice, its ONLY half the price as my Xperia Pro, I might get it as a spare phone just for the sake of it.

Holy Moly. I'll buy a Sony RX100 VII camera and call it day. Sony finally has what appears to be a great phone and they are shooting themselves in the feet without bulletproof sneakers.

The worse marketing strategy been chosen by Sony mobile division in penetrate and striving for a fairly tight and narrow niche market. I guest Sony mobile will experience fail in selling of his product.
Sony too proud with his decision to keep and choose camera resolution lower than his rival, meanwhile the other already launch product with better CMOS camera and greater resolution.
Also for internal memory (ROM), I think Sony too conservative if not say as the blind and deaf company which never consider the hope of fans and users to get the bigger ROM.

The Sony Xperia 1 III has officially gone on sale in China with two RAM variants and two different colors available for potential buyers. At about the same time, Japan's NTT Docomo mobile phone operator has revealed a hefty price tag for the Xperia 1 III that aligns with the prices in China and points to high prices for Sony's 2021 flagship in other markets.
