QuoteHowever, one can't help but wonder why a company like Google would release a handset without polishing the software first.

Seriously? It seems like all Google does is release half-baked software, only to wait for it to be fully accepted and integrated, only to then change it or take it away. Like with the most recent change of removing the side/hamburger menu from the Play Store in a misguided effort to make things easier on the ever-increasingly large phones, so now you have to reach up to the top of the screen to access the menu instead of just swiping from the side. Or moving the clock from the right side, where it was for years and made perfect sense, to the left side, where it makes no sense, as if just to mess with people. Google is the epitome of bad software decisions.

The April 2021 security update for the Google Pixel series comes with connectivity, camera, and stability improvements for the entire lineup, but the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G get a noticeable gaming performance boost. However, the new patch arrives after the first stable Android 11 update which unfortunately came with a decline in performance.
