Why the Ryzen 5 3450U and not something even older?
Is AMD not producing enough 5000U APUs?
Oh, wait, AMD basically paper-launched this year and a half CPU, APU and GPU lineups!

have we really changed the definition of paper launch that if one are unable to buy it then it automatically are a paper launch despite others could buy it?
Basically yes, if it's not available for the vast majority of the population and only "others" could buy it, it's basically the definition of paper launch.

I don't see the market drowning with AMD 5000U APUs, they're all 4000U or sometimes 3000U at best.
It doesn't take months for manufacturers to start selling the latest and greatest Intel processors.

This is, quite literally, e-waste.. You could get a 9th gen i9 mini pc for $30 more or an i7 mini pc for much less..
Or you can buy a DeskMini X300 plus a 4750G for around €450 including all EU taxes (that should translate to less than $450). Larger, but a lot more powerful. And potentially quieter (depending on how you set it up and a cooler from Noctua is under €40). Cirrus makes a passive case for that motherboard if you want to go there (€200).

MINISFORUM's latest creation comes with a Ryzen 5 3450U that features Radeon Vega 8 graphics, at least 8/256 GB of memory/storage, and shipments should begin at the end of next month. The prices start at US$539 for the aforementioned configuration and can go up to US$599 for the 16/512 GB variant.
