I am dissappointed with keyboard, Keys are slippery for me. Comparing with macbooks from 2013-2014 and lenovo thinkpad e330. I have ordered key stickers, and hope this will improve typing experience for me.

By the way, I paid 820 euros for it. Didn't broke the bank at all.

I've been using i5 version of this laptop for a week now and haven't noticed any coil wine or other annoying sounds. It's not getting hot either! For online teaching/office work this is more than enough for me. It's build like a tank and fast. A T model would be a waste of money for those kind of operations that I do.

Guys your attempts to compare it to Ryzen make no sense. At 15W TDP Ryzen 2 is far better than 11gen Intel and most laptops run ultravolt so...

€1,029 for the top of the line model (we tested the most expensive E14 Gen 2 Intel configuration) is quite cheap for a ThinkPad here in Europe. The cheapest ThinkPad T series costs several hundred € more, especially with 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD.

Lucienne is enough, put R5 4600U (those 6 core 12 thread) and it easily beat 1165G7, so is R5 5500U

Lenovo ThinkPad L14/L15:
- 2 x SODIMM (Dual channel DDR4 memory)
- Heavier than E-series (2 kg)
- 1 x M.2 SSD
- 1 x Thunderbolt 4, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A, +1 x USB 3.0 Type-C (for charging also or DisplayPort or USB)

Both have HDMI out + RJ45 (Ethernet)

Leave it to AMD fagns to cry when their CPU is not always the recommended option.

You are right, but unfortunately, we have not tested the ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 with the Ryzen 7, only with Ryzen 5. That is why we have put the bigger E15 with the R7 into the CPU comparison charts, but that isn't a perfect comparison either.

It still is a valid comparison though - the last gen ThinkPad E14 with Intel Comet Lake had no chance against the Ryzen 4000 chips, no matter if equipped with i5 or i7. This new model is much more competitive.

If possible, we will try to get a review unit of the E14 Gen 2 Intel with an i5, which would be a more perfect comparison.

Ideally, the author should have compared the new laptop with i7 chip with the same laptop using AMD Ryzen 7 series. Chips such as 4500u are made for mid range performance laptops.
