Another DxO scam. This model continues the last one's practice of a mandatory ~1.2x crop in stacked auto, which is where almost all of its advantage lies. To use the whole sensor, one is forced to 50MP mode which from initial samples at GSMA is shockingly poor, so their claim of the largest smartphone sensor (in production or not) is another lie, yet again, just like back with P40. Along the same lines, I don't believe they can claim G78MP24 if 4 units out of 24 can only be used to run Pinball.
And samples show that their night mode is still really bad, such that it should be completely disregarded as it has not the slightest advantage to auto even in poorly lit conditions.
Kirin 9000 uses a 24 core GPU. The frequency of each core might be low to keep the power consumption within a certain ramge but nevertheless the truth is Huawei made a decision to opt for the highest MP24 configuration for Mali-G78 this year. You can't get around this fact no matter how hard you try to twist it.
The GPU was just a figurative example, there's nothing to discuss until the competitors have their numbers.
GSMA themselves admit you can out-zoom to 0.85x and get the complete field of view from the main camera in P40 Pro Plus review. Mate 40 Pro applies the same 27mm equivalent crop to the main camera and ultra-wide has the same 18mm equivalent field of view as in P40 Pro, so it is reasonable to assume that you can do the same on Mate 40 Pro, no?
