I've been using my Spectre x360 14 (i7,16gb,OLED) for a few weeks. Everything's been pretty solid. Consistent 6hrs of battery life browsing and multitasking, and good pen performance, but obviously still a lot behind compared to my iPad Pro 11" in terms of pressure, latency, software etc. Screen is better than most laptops and slightly worse than a flagship phone. XE graphics is a nice boost, spreadsheets load a little faster and photo editing is less choppy. Just don't expect to play heavy games on 1080p or smoothly edit a 4K video clip on it.

When is the Notebookcheck review going to be out? I would like to know your thoughts on this virtually flawless notebook convertible.

It's available to buy now in the US. I'm not allowed to post links as this is my first post.

The month has come and gone and it wasn't released.  Any news on how long the delay will last?

Interesting. I just checked and it's $900 for 10th gen and $1,100 for 11th. Also have to consider the Spectre is using an OLED, which costs more. Granted, I'd prefer a standard screen due to being cheaper and lower power consumption, and maybe that'll be an option, but I doubt I'd go with HP at this point anyways.

"Hmmm, $1200 *starting* price sounds a bit high."

When you compare it to it's main competitor, the Dell XPS 13 or the 2-in-1, 1200 dollar starting price is actually lower.
I just looked and Dell says 9310 is starting at $999.
Still a bit too high for crappy i3 IMO.

Spectre keyboard is good. I am typing on Spectre X2 2 in 1 I got in late 2015. These are premium laptops with good keyboard and great screen. So they wont be cheap.

Why are all hp laptops so weak looking and their designs suck

Type 10 words and the keyboard starts crying for help..you can't bang it in frustration you can't can't play flip flop with the screen, can't hand it to your toddler as a toy for throwing around

These new laptops in general and hp in specific are lame and weak

What happened to sturdiness ??

Well at least they have the best keyboard layout design. (in the 13-14 inch space)

As for lack of quality, it's cause they want to push people towards the more expensive premium lines.

Why do you think they have probook, elitebook and zbook which are pretty much the same thing?

32 gb Optane + 1tb NVMe? Is there a reason for this weird setup?

In terms of speed, Optane and NVME should be around the same. Sure, it has better read/write latency than most NVME, but at best it still about only same as the top nvme drives in both speed and latency.

Why not a 32gb ram option instead?

Well this is so awesome! I was so looking for a 3:2 convertible!
And I was an inch from ordering the new xps 2-in-1, even if it had several issues : non-removable SSD, no USB-A, only 16:10 (which is better than any 16:9 but not as good as 3:2).
That really made my day. One hour more and I would have ordered the XPS as I have been waiting for the tiger lake updated version for few months. A bit more of waiting is totally worth it.

Only few things that I wished could be better :
- A slightly bigger screen. 14" like the matebook X pro. Or even 15".
- Another small thing is the keyboard layout. I like the fact there are two additional buttons on the arrows on the XPS 2-in-1 for pageup pagedown. There is actually a keyboard layout that I like even more, which can be found on some chinese laptop. It's one with 4 big arrows, the up taking some space on the shift key, and an additional row of keys on the right for home end pageUp PageDown.
- If the pen could be inside the laptop like the galaxy book flex. Even if the pen has to be small I think it's definitly worth it.
- I'm not a fan of the 'gem cut' design of the specter line. I actually really don't like it. I much prefer xps/galaxy book flex/inspirion/envy styles.
- SD card reader would have been nice addition.
- Thanks to the big width of the 3:2, they could have fit a bigger trackpad by moving the keyboard up. They could even put a second screen, like the asus screenpad. They could fit a big 7-8" 4:3 secondary display 'screenpad' Which would be really usefull vs the asus screenpads. Asus screenpad being only 5.5" and 16:9, their width is too small to really being usefull as secondary display.

Maybe take a look at the acer spin 5 too.

No one says nothing about the really slow RAM? Dell and Lenovo put RAM 1000mhz faster. That is going to influence the iGPU performance quite a bit.

Plus I guarantee they'll require you to get the i7 in order to get 16GB RAM, like always, which is one big thing that keeps me from buying an HP.
