"Superior local dimming to FALD" is a strange way to put it. It all depends on the number of zones and any two digit zone local dimming is a hindrance, with below par performance on most metrics compared to edge lit, which should exist for no reason other than misleading marketing. Those with a more decent number of zones also shouldn't have even neared a point where the number of zones is limited by the diode size, and AFAIK there doesn't exist non-mini-LED local dimming on laptop panels, so they're in a class of their own, which would not directly suggest superiority.

I'm always looking for most easy to read screen for PDF consumption...  and have really found no equal to the samsung amoled tablets in that regard...  but...  the auto dimming feature to prevent burn-in issues is a constant pain when surfing the web or other uses where its enabled.   I could (maybe) give up a little contrast for eliminating the auto-dimming annoyance.
