I'm still considering PS5 with BluRay for the sole purpose of playing used games. In previous generations of consoles I usually bought the game (new or used), played it and then resell it back.

I wonder if cheaper price of digital version PS5 won't kill the market with used games, because "nobody" will use physical disks.

I stand corrected, Sony added the 4K Bluray capabilities in the PS5 (while they were missing in the PS4/PS4 Pro). That sill doesn't make it any weirder to recommend the PS5 over the Series X for the Bluray alone, as far as the public specs go, they look pretty much the same for Bluray playback.

I don't follow your logic here... games and Bluray movies playback are not the same. While both consoles state 4K gaming as a feature, the Series X has a 4K Bluray movies player (like the previous Xbox One S/X) while the PS5 can likely only play regular Blurays (like the PS4/PS$ Pro).

So, why should people that care about Blurays favor the device without 4K movies support?

If those prices become a reality, then everyone will have an option, based on how much is willing to pay.

Don't care about BluRay and 4K? 299 for the XBOX S.

Don't care about BluRay but you want 4K? 399 for the digital PS5.

Don't care about BluRay but you want the BEST 4K? 499 for the XBOX X.

You do care about BluRay and you also want 4K? 499 for the PS5.

A new report has claimed that Sony has had to revise planned prices for the PlayStation 5 consoles due to Microsoft's attractive next-gen Xbox hardware price tags. A PS5 launch date in Japan may have been accidentally revealed, and a timely reminder of what future PS5 owners can look forward to has been circulating on social media.
