It appears that our friends at NVIDIA are now actively going after the full demise of the once mighty $1,200+ RTX 2080ti. It was noted that the ($499 base) RTX 3070 is equipped with more (and faster) CUDA cores than the older 2080ti, and NVIDIA extensively now pushing the RTX 3070 as being faster than the 2080ti, at much more than half its original price. When averaged over a whole test suite at 1440p resolution the RTX 3070 "Founders Edition" beat the RTX 2080ti. Given the smashing low $499 MSRP for the 3070, $200 for a used 2080ti is now seen as quite reasonable. My friends at the local 'Bangalore PC' shop (specializing in used and preowned  hardware) report that used pricing for the 2080 series is already in total free fall. They are also seeing a virtual glut of GTX 1080ti cards being proffered for quick cash. Chandra from Mumbai feels that the used GPU market is now much bigger than we all thought and that surely is driving prices down even further. They see early 2021 as the perfect storm (or the big seller shift) and then marketing to people that initially could only dream NVIDIA. My take: On or before March 2021 and with $200 cash in hand, the man on the street may walk-out at their stripcenter shop with a RTX 2080ti in a plastic bag and no sales tax. At the computer show 1080ti's will sell like hotcakes.

I don't expect they will drop as far as $300 for a long time yet, especially if Nvidia doesn't have enough cards ready for launch, as the rumors are suggesting. When 3080 launches, they may drop to $600 and then to $400 when 3070 launches a month later. $300 probably won't come until Spring 2021 at the earliest, at which price it might be worth picking one up if AMD and Nvidia haven't released $300 cards that faster than it.

I would be very careful to sell your 2080TI right now, as you maybe without a decent card for sometime based on Nvidia response to low output of 3000 series cards. Most probably wont get one until 2021 Q2.

Are you crazy this is such an overestimate. You will be able to find 3080 in October and 3970 in November tops. Q2 2021 is just ridiculous you are just making up crap, they will be releasing super variants by that time like they did with 20 series

465 eur for brand new 2080ti is a scam! Do not believe in such prices.

The RTX 3080 won't be 80% faster than a RTX 2080Ti (for non Ti, that may apply for stock speed!). It is about 20-30% faster to a OCed 2080Ti. Also the 2080Ti has 11 instead of 10GB, although slower mem.
Considering this, the 2080Ti will still sell at 350-470 in a month or two, as it will be good value when the 3070 is sold out on that 499USD référence price. The 3080 is going at 699 USD the least, so for about 15-25% less performance, a secondhand RTX 2080Ti will seem like a good deal when priced up to 450 USD.
Even 3060 will probably have faster ray tracing and dlss than outdated 2080Ti. For that feature alone 30** series will be much more desirable. 20** cards already dropping like stones in prices. i personally won't even consider 2080Ti for more than $275 as I see no point in it when 3070 for $499 beats it in raster and double beats it in ray tracing.

I'm offering $275 tops for a mint 2080Ti. My offer only stands limited time. As even 3060 that will come soon will have better ray tracing performance than 2080Ti.  ;D

Imagine selling your 2080 Ti and not being able to buy a 3080 due to every retail running out of stock ...

Theoretically speaking, if the RTX 3080 priced at $699 is 70-80% faster than the RTX 2080 Ti, the high-end Turing cards should be selling for around $300 tops in used condition. We are not quite there yet, as the lowest prices in the US are hovering around $550, while in the EU, brand new RTX 2080 Ti cards are selling for 450 Euro. The race to the bottom is still on, nevertheless.
