To me, it makes sense in the Pursuit of reducing thermal temperatures and throttling as much as possible. Sure, the 5000 max-q > 5000 but that allows the CPU to boss up and deliver even stronger performances for task that can leverage both of those things (like 3d software). Is there a use case that entirely depends on the GPU? I don't think so.

For a full-size mobile workstation with all the bells and whistles, it's odd to see a Quadro Max-Q GPU instead of the full-power non-Max-Q variant.
