In the official news it only refers to a hardware update nothing else .. since AMD and Nintendo have been talking about switch2 for what use RDNA 2 for some time.

Of course 4K would be in docked mode. Can you imagine the cost if it had a 4K screen.

The regular Xavier isn't happening. Carmel cores are compatible with A57s, but they still take some work. Dunno if it's worth it for Nintendo to put that on devs for a Switch Pro console.

Anyway regular Xavier Soc is way too big. There is thr Xavier NX chip that has a 15 watt mode with 384 cuda cores and runs at 845 GFLOPS GPU . But the soc is still big for the switch.

I wouldn't bet on a 7nm for shrink to fit it offer a 60% performance boost to reach to 1.4 TFLOPs like the original Xavier does either.

As for DLSS, likely not happening with the Xavier.

The problem is that the Tegra Xavier die is significantly larger than the Tegra X1 die and the Tegra X2 die. If Nintendo wants to keep the form factor of the "Nintendo Switch Pro" the same as the Nintendo Switch's form factor, I can't see how Nintendo can fit the Tegra Xavier die into the PCB board, even if it's fabricated at 8 nm or 7 nm. If the "Nintendo Switch Pro" renders anything in 4K, I imagine it's the OS UI, non-video game apps, and games that are very graphically simplistic.

Its highly unlikely, if someone followed nintendo know their goal is not to be the best graphics in the market, 4k gaming wouldnt be logical on the portable device, battery life would be horrible and nintendo wouldnt be able to make 4k games. Right now we are at 480p - 720p, so a jump to 1080p would be more believable

Those Carmel custom cores are still ARMv8 ISA compliant, so they'll run arm code.

Nvidia themselves have a "Jetson Nano Next" on their roadmap for 2021, which seems to be the most likely candidate for a Switch upgrade/successor. What I don't know is the power cost of something like DLSS, but if it's lower power than increasing traditional rendering capabilities, then I would also expect to see it.
