Who tf decided on a 3.5 1440p display to showcase a bunch of low res games. It would've looked the same at 291ppi and probably gotten 10 hours for battery.

The point is to have a display that can support the varying resolutions of the devices it emulates without obvious scaling artefacts. Once you have enough pixels to work with, you won't notice the odd non-integer scaling issue and you greatly increase the chances of being able to scale on an integer. Think of it as like an old-school CRT.

Not sure how much it affects battery life, though.

L and R are very clearly visible in the image showcasing the dock. there are raised bumps that are definitely buttons on either top side of the main body of the console.

that said, zero interest in this.

Gameboy Advance games need to have L and R trigger buttons. I don't see them on this device and can't imagine a comfortable place they would be located.

Im sure this will open up a whole new avenue for 8bit game devs and some others to create new games specifically for this type of system.

Why is everyone so negative?

Lol just emulate on your cell phone, 1080p or 4k out put, mapable controls, tons of roms and rom hacks, screen recording and twitch live streaming, Bluetooth controller supports, way longer battery life than 6 hours, absolutely free if u have a smart phone already and know how to get roms. Also I doubt this along pocket will let you upload roms seriously dont know why ppl keep buying this crap lol.

So they uh, reinvented the Gameboy advance except it's almost needlessly over engineered and unnecessarily expensive?

Why?
