AMD has had good value for what you get...in computers at least.  Perhaps that will help. Though I am tired of "flagship" phone prices going up.  How are they cheaper to consumers?

I am waiting for 5G network build outs and was hoping more competition and like most consumer electronics are both better and cheaper.

I got a S10 plus just to try and decide if it is good for a year or so and maybe recover some loot on a trade or turn in etc.  I mean actual mm 5G.

But a raise in price?
Is it also a hoverboard or seriously what true benefits as a phone user do words like "beast" mean?  Marshawn Lynch signature?

How about some background to put this in to perspective.

BTW not to disparage anyone but how can someone "confirm" with a rumor source?  Sure makes sense as laid out but still sounds like an educated guess.  Not bad just different.
Don't hold your breath for 5G, China's carriers are the wealthiest in the world and they still have spotty 5G, until Luneberg lenses are mass produced I don't see this changing significantly.

Good! Sick of the Qualcomm monopoly with processors, meanwhile the rest of the market get shafted. AMD ARM seems way more ambitious and capable of delivering gains not only on the CPU front, but also on gaming with integrated graphics pertaining to the "GPU".

I mean, since AMD ARM chips are poised to dominate the console market, this looks like especially good news for consumers in general with them on Samsung's exynos team. Hopefully this sends a message to Qualcomm, who previously tried buying AMD out.

I personally can't wait for the exynos 1000, since processors of past were not up to spec and I'm glad samsung acknowledged this to improve the weakest areas. The S21 alredy looks set to be a beast of a phone! Being on 2021.
There wasn't a monopoly, or if somebody was trying to break a monopoly on the flagship scene then it was MTK's D1000.
The rumor that SD875 costs $250(in bulk, of course) sounds suspicious too. IIRC that's 3 times the price of 855, you simply can't jack up the price at this rate or it won't be found in anything south of $2000 retail price knowing that component cost won't exceed 40%(or was it 30%?) of a smartphone's sales price.

If the new Exynos feature AMD GPU's as planned, then yes, expect them to ditch Snapdragon for good.

Samsung is expected to launch its next generation of Galaxy S flagships, the S21 series, sometime in Q1 2021. New information, however, claims that all the Galaxy S21 phones will feature Samsung's in-house Exynos 1000 chipset instead of having some Snapdragon 875-powered models as is typical.
