Interesting. This could make possible a second display below the keyboard! Enabling for example a switchable keyboard layout.

In what way can one be impressed with a roundish square that should've been a plain square? I certainly hope Apple doesn't cheapen their design going the Thinkpad route. Thinkpad's keys to Apple's current keys(which in turn are very much similar to Sony keys) are like old Blades' design, which I've for years said needed modernization, to the latest Blade design, which is finally proper for a premium product.

Here is an innovation they should try, proper buttons on the touchpad. Then everyone can copy that and we can return to sanity.

Apple's MacBook keyboards have been the recipient of plenty of unwanted attention in recent years thanks to the infamous butterfly keyboard debacle. However, the company seems intent on continuing to try to innovate on that front with a patent lodged for glass keycaps that might feature on future MacBooks.
