Oh well, that's saved me a few quid. I'll stick with my Mi Fit 4 as the only thing that would have made me upgrade would have been some sort of NFC payment arrangement. Happy I don't have upgrade envy 😀

There is no need of NFC, if the  agreements are not in place.
Meaning, if Xiaomi does not get an agreement with Visa, Mastercard, or any other payment company; there is no need to include NFC - and does increase price - on the Mi Band 5 Global.

If you find an use-case for NFC, please share it with me.

Xiaomi released the Mi Band 5 with NFC last month, but it has emerged that the global edition will not support the functionality. Called the Mi Smart Band 5, the fitness tracker will support blood oxygen monitoring thanks to the inclusion of a SpO2 sensor.
