I agree wholeheartedly. In my opinion the Note 9 is an icon and the last no holds barred, everything but the kitchen sink, all inclusive, no compromises, Note. I do alot of mobile photography and wanted to put the camera improvements of the Note 20 Ultra to the test, but I was unwilling to trade in my still pristine Note 9 for the pre-order discount. So I bided my time, waited for the prices to drop and scoured the websites Offer Up and Swappa until I found a good deal. No matter what devices I add to my line up, my Note 9 will be one of my favorites.

On my S9, picked it over Note 9 because I didn't need the stylus and figured it'd be too big even for my bigger than average hands to use onehanded. I can say it has been extremely difficult to find another phone I am interested in. Xperia 1 ii is close, though I have yet found another phone that is as feature complete and for its time as advanced as the S8-N9 period sammies were.

No idea how you reached that conclusion. Asus with their ROG brand really put together a few products with impact, with the sheer number of features and knowing what not to skimp(e.g. the jack).Razer OTOH produced irrelevant and non-competitive smartphones from the start.

Razer Phone 2 came out that same year. And it's still as relevant in the gaming smartphone world as the more recent releases. 

Had note 7,8,and 9 never had any problems best phones I've had.

The truth about burn in on AMOLED is that each individual pixel has its own lifespan, as you use up some pixels and not others, you get the impression of burn in. Burn in on AMOLED can be fixed by simply inverting the image that has been burnt in. Though I would make sure you know what color specifically.

Overall to reduce burn in, you should avoid colors that use blue (which has shortest lifespan). That includes purple and white.

Stick to using green and red as much as possible in your UI and consider using blue light filter mode which will help you with sleep as well. Of course black is the best but that technically isn't a color. Use darker colors over brighter ones too.

I have a Galaxy Note 3 and Note 4 that I've used every day since they came out and it has no visible burn in. Simply because I took good care of them by using dark themes.

As someone who's owned the Note 9 and now the Note 10 plus since release I'd have to disagree...strange clickbait article btw.

For me, I am still rocking Mate20pro which i think is a smartphone came out ahead of its time. From ultra wide camera to night mode , 3d face unlock ,underdisplay fingerprint , 40W supercharged , and more.....

Apart from the stylus, which can't be helped, the Sony would be a proper replacement. If willing to accept severely curved screens and/or punchholes, then there are other replacements.

The Note 9 has not disappointed in 2 years and we will have to retire the beast soon. The successor needs to be at least equally great if not greater that the Note 9.

A Galaxy Note without a heart rate monitor and a headphone jack is not a great phone. The Note 9 is the last one.
ANY phone without an S pen or DEX is not a  great phone
